Dr. Amira del Pino-Jones is an Associate Professor in the Division of Hospital Medicine and Associate Dean for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) for the School of Medicine. She is a Colorado native and attended CUSOM for medical school and completed her Internal Medicine residency at the University of Colorado. In addition to DEI-B, her interests include improving care for under and un-insured patient populations, medical education, and pathway programming for students underrepresented in medicine. As Associate Dean for DEI, Dr. del Pino-Jones oversees all aspects of the School of Medicine’s DEI programs, including education, research, community outreach, recruitment, and support of faculty, residents, students, and staff.

Dr. Maurice “Scotty” Scott is a physician and native of Park Hill, Denver. He is an Associate Professor at the University of Colorado School of Medicine. Dr. Scott is an attending physician on the University of Colorado Hospital Palliative Care Consult Service, Director of a Master of Science in Palliative Care and Community-Based Hospice and Palliative Medicine programs, and an Assistant Dean of Student Affairs. As Director of DEI for UME, Dr. Scott oversees UME DEI programming, including education, recruitment, and support of students in the School of Medicine (SOM) Programs (MD, Physical Therapy, Physician Assistant, and Anesthesia Assistant).

Dr. Jaqueline Ward-Gaines is an Assistant Professor and Emergency Medicine physician at the University of Colorado Hospital. As Director of GME DEI, Dr. Ward-Gaines oversees GME DEI programming, including education, recruitment, and support of residents and fellows in our programs, and also assists with DEI efforts and initiatives in our Graduate Programs.

Karina Goodwin is the DEI Manager for the Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (ODEI). Karina helps lead and manage DEI programs and oversees the daily operations of the ODEI.
