Barbara Davis Center

Receives Positive Rankings from U.S. News and World Report and Expertscape

U.S. News and World Report recently ranked the Barbara Davis Center and Children’s Hospital Colorado as #4 in the nation for diabetes and endocrinology service.

Executive Director Dr. Marian Rewers said, “We are proud to be counted, together with our Endocrinology colleagues, among that elite group. Making the ‘top 4’ is a wonderful testimony to the excellence and strength of our clinical services. The differences among the top centers are small, and we will make every effort to be #1 next year.”

The Barbara Davis Center scored high marks in diabetic patient management, advanced clinical services, commitment to best practices, adoption of health information technology, commitment to quality improvement, reputation with specialists and commitment to clinical research.

The center was also recognized in June at the American Diabetes Association’s 74th Scientific Sessions. It was named the world's top institution in the research of Type 1 Diabetes Mellitus. The ranking was compiled by Expertscape and was based on PubMed publications in the past ten years. The ranking also took into account the impact factor, the article's year of publication and the article's type.
