The submission window is open January 15–29. Subcommittee reviews follow in February, leadership reviews in March, and decisions are due in April.

The five priority themes are Neuroscience, Oncology, Transplantation, Musculoskeletal, and Cardiovascular.

Faculty with an active School of Medicine appointment of at least 50% FTE may lead a project.

Faculty with less than 50% FTE or a joint UCHealth role may be eligible with approval from their Chair and the Dean (or designee).

Requests under $5M with project periods of 1–2 years are prioritized. Requests above $5M need approval before submission from the Executive Advisory Committee.

Program staff first check each request for completeness. Reviewers then assess it independently against a common rubric. Program subcommittees review standard requests in February, and the Executive Advisory Council conducts its leadership review in March. Every proposal is evaluated against the same six questions.

Requests scoped primarily to one program or clinical area follow the standard track. Requests that span programs, fund shared infrastructure or platforms, or need multi-year commitments across budgets go directly to the Executive Advisory Council.

Decisions are due in April. You will receive a written decision notice with the outcome, any conditions, the funding route, and reporting expectations.

Prior to the deadline resubmissions are allowed. After the deadline, proposals may only be revised and resubmitted if the committee explicitly invites the applicant to do so.
