Orthopedic Surgery Interest Group
Welcome to the Orthopedic Surgery Interest Group (OSIG) website. As a student interest group at the University of Colorado School of Medicine, we strive to help our members explore and understand the specialty of orthopedic surgery.
We were created in 2008 to address medical student interest in orthopedics and provide educational experiences, research opportunities, and faculty mentorship. Our programming centers around three primary events, with additional events throughout the academic year, to help members gain exposure to current residents and faculty.
This group serves as a liaison between students and faculty, helping facilitate student collaboration with department faculty on active, ongoing research. We provide both peer-to-peer and faculty mentorship to our members, and more formal advising via Dr. Frank Scott, our faculty mentor. Senior members also provide a student perspective on navigating the transition from medical school to orthopedic surgery residency.
Becoming a member is as simple as joining our group email list (just email orthosig@gmail.com to be added). Members receive priority at events with limited capacity. You may also follow our events via Twitter @CUOSIG or Facebook .
