Orthopedic Clerkship

Our mission is to provide every medical student with the experience, basic knowledge and understanding of orthopedic health, enabling them to provide informed and individualized care for future patients.

 

The University of Colorado Department of Orthopedics Clerkship provides clinical experiences in both inpatient and outpatient settings, serving patients ranging in age from adolescents to the end of life.
 
Every year over 100 students rotate through our Ortho clerkship, where they have opportunities to learn and provide care to Colorado and surrounding area Orthopedic patients in our clinics and operating rooms. Students work with a variety of providers including faculty, fellows, residents, additional clinical staff, as well as other disciplines as part of interprofessional teams. Our students learn the fundamentals of Orthopedics they are also able to participate in groundbreaking research and clinical care. Each year on average about 45 of our students chose Orthopedics as their career and match at a variety of strength training programs around the country.
