The mission of the Carry Musculoskeletal Epidemiology Lab is to understand the childhood origins of musculoskeletal (MSK) disease and the impact of MSK disease on function and quality of life in adulthood. Through partnerships with clinicians, we aim to develop and implement interventions that modify MSK disease trajectory to maximize mobility across the lifespan.
Our lab uses single and multi-omics data to understand the etiology of complex MSK disease. Our lab is actively involved in research projects in the areas of adolescent idiopathic scoliosis, concussion, osteoarthritis, and Type 1 Diabetes. Our lab also collaborates with pediatric orthopedic clinical investigators in the Musculoskeletal Research Center (MRC) at Children’s Hospital Colorado. Our lab provides methodological and analytical support for the MRC. Our lab has supported clinical research projects in the areas of randomized controlled trials, meta-analyses, biomechanical studies, quality improvement studies, and cohort studies based on large administrative datasets.
