A Collaboration between BBICen, the Arizona Telemedicine Program, and the Southwest Telehealth Resource Center, the Telehealth and Technology Advances for Mental Health Care was held at the Anschutz Health Science Building (AHSB) on August 2023. This meeting included a number of local speakers as well as a keynote lecture by John Torous, MD, who is Director of Digital Psychiatry at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center at the Harvard School of Medicine.
The learning objectives for the meeting were 4-fold:
1) Apply tele-mental health best practices in the clinical integration of telehealth services as applicable.
2) Recognize how to implement tele-mental health in a way that promote equitable access to care.
3) Utilize telemedicine technologies to provide mental healthcare services to a range of patients mixing different technologies and platforms.
4) Differentiate strengths and limitations to applying telemental health in various clinical scenarios.
