Welcome to the Rocky Mountain Cannabis Research Center (RM-CRC). The RM-CRC is a National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) funded Center of Excellence at the University of Colorado. Recreational and medical cannabis products that contain varying amounts of tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) and cannabidiol (CBD) are now widely available throughout North America. Despite easy access to these products, research on the potential risks and benefits of THC and CBD has been lacking. This lack of knowledge is frustrating for patients and health care providers alike. Our mission is to accelerate research on the risks and benefits of cannabis and cannabinoids to provide the information that consumers, patients, doctors, and public health officials need to make informed decisions. We are excited and honored to play an important role in the development of new knowledge regarding the effects of cannabis products.
