PEACS is a little bit different from other outpatient treatment settings in a few ways.

First, our services require an initial, thorough, eligibility assessment. We want to be sure that we are a good fit for the kind of help that you need.

Second, we may offer assessment, education, symptom monitoring, and treatment in the context of our clinic as well as in our current research studies. We will do our best to explain the current options and answer questions when you connect with us.

The first step is to reach out to our referral team, using the contact information below. The referral team includes our front desk administrative staff and members of the PEACS team. The front desk will collect initial information from you, to help us get an initial sense of what next steps may be best for you. The front desk team will review this information with the PEACS clinical team, who may reach out to you to gather more information to help with deciding next steps. If an evaluation with the PEACS clinic or research is the best next step for you, we will review the process and next steps. Alternatively, we will do our best to give you information about other possible resources.

Evaluation through the clinic

PEACS operates as an outpatient clinic under the umbrella of the University of Colorado Anschutz Department of Psychiatry. There are several specialized outpatient clinical programs that operate under this umbrella. The practice uses a secure outpatient medical records and scheduling system. We accept most major insurances, and also offer private pay as an option for people who choose to pay for services themselves. Please ask about these options when you contact us.

Considerations about clinic participation:

• Your initial evaluation or consultation appointment serves as your intake into the clinic, if you’re appropriate for and interested in clinic treatment
• Your initial evaluation creates a medical record which connects with billing for the consultation, and any ongoing treatment
• If desired, you may request a brief written consultation report/summary for your use

PEACS may have ongoing research studies. After completing a consent to the specific study, research participation would involve completing a specialized psychosis risk evaluation with a clinician and then receiving verbal feedback based on that evaluation, as well as further assessments/procedures related to the specific study.
