The Brain Imaging Center at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus houses a research-dedicated, wide-bore MRI scanner (Siemens Skyra 3.0 T MR system), equipped with high performance gradient coils (45mT/m @ 200 T/m/s), a 32-channel head coil, a 20-channel phased-array RF neurovascular coil, a body and spine coil with 32 elements, and flex coils. The system has a 70 cm bore opening and a weight capacity of 550 lbs to accommodate larger subjects. Capabilities include True Form Field of View up to 50 cm x 50 cm x 45 cm, multiband sequences, fMRI, MR Elastography, Multinuclear Spectroscopy, Arterial Spin Labeling, Echoplanar Imaging, 4D Flow, and Quiet Suite, which is capable of reducing sequence sound pressure levels by 70%.
Imaging Center resources available for stimulus delivery, response recording, and subject monitoring include an MR-compatible goggle system with eye-tracking (Resonance Technology, Inc.), MR-compatible headphones (Resonance Technology, Inc.), four and two-button response boxes (Cedrus Corp, USA), a high-speed eye-tracking system (Cambridge Research Systems), and an MR-compatible Pulse Oximeter (Nonin Medical, Inc.). The Center also has an MRI compatible 64-channel EEG system (NeuroScan). A DICOM server is available for easy transfer of data from the Brain Imaging Center to various labs at the Denver and Boulder campuses.
