The Department employs a biostatistician and several data analysts with expertise in the analysis of statistical and other quantitative data important to studies in primary care. This includes analyzing large, complex, longitudinal data sets such as is common in health services research. The Department works closely with the ACCORDS Biostatistics and Data Analytics Cores.

The Department employs several researchers with qualitative and mixed methods expertise as well as several qualitatively-trained professional research assistants. Qualitative and mixed methods are important to the study of many primary care research questions. Methods include expertise in many forms of data collection and types of analysis. The Department works closely with the ACCORDS Qualitative and Mixed Methods Core. 

Dissemination and Implementation Research seeks to study the effective adoption and implementation of evidence-based programs and approaches into routine care. The Department has a close connection with the ACCORDS Dissemination and Implementation Research Program with the leadership provided by our Department. 

The Department engages in work that uses innovative methods that help answer questions important to primary care and community health. Examples include expertise in conducting social network analysis, cognitive task analysis, qualitative comparative analysis, geographic data mapping, and more.
