Patient Care is a pillar of the Department of Family Medicine.
Our clinical activities provide direct patient care by our faculty, educational sites for students, residents and fellows, and a learning laboratory for new ways to deliver family medicine.
Our scope of care includes ambulatory practices, robust inpatient care teams including obstetrics, sports medicine, palliative care, addiction medicine, and behavioral health.
We strive to provide the highest quality of care in settings that promote the wellness of patients, staff, and providers.
Our care teams are continuously improving the level and quality of care to make our patients’ lives better.
Our Family Medicine practices - integrated with psychologists, pharmacists, psychiatrists, care managers, and social workers - are all National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) Patient-Centered Medical Homes.

"The University of Colorado Department of Family Medicine is committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion in our medical care. We strive to partner with every patient in a way that recognizes and honors their entire self, including race, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation, ability, language, body size, income, mental health status, and other important identities. Our clinical settings should be a place of belonging for all patients and employees. Our healthcare should be individualized to every person's unique circumstances. If we fail to meet these standards we will embrace the opportunity to grow. Our core values of continuity and whole person care infuse what we do and are essential elements in the wellbeing of individuals, families, and communities."
