The Spots and Dots Clinic is a collaboration between the Division of Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology and the Hemophilia and Thrombosis Center at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus. Our multidisciplinary team of providers includes gynecology providers specially trained in pediatric and adolescent reproductive health, hematologists, nursing, social work, physical therapy, 340b pharmacy supports, and psychology. Our clinic is designed to provide comprehensive, one-stop care to diagnose and treat gynecological and hematologic issues in teens and women with heavy menstrual bleeding with or without an underlying blood disorder.
Psychological consultation and liaison work is a core component of this minor rotation. This includes introduction of services and behavioral health assessment for new patients, brief behavioral health intervention for returning patients, and opportunity for ongoing behavioral health follow-up. The Psychology Resident will provide care to patients in-person at the Hemophilia and Thrombosis Center or via secure telehealth platform. Consultation and liaison services are often 15-45 minutes in length. Behavioral health intake and follow-up sessions are approximately 90 and 50 minutes, respectively.
