Impact and Importance

Global health anesthesiology is crucial in addressing health disparities worldwide. Our fellowship aims to prepare anesthesiologists to deliver safe, effective care in resource-limited settings, making a tangible difference in the lives of patients globally. This program is one of only ten nationally, reflecting our commitment to excellence and leadership in global health.

Working with skilled and compassionate physicians in Guatemala, we helped build capacity by providing tools and specialized training, while adapting to the unique challenges in this resource-limited setting. The impact was immediate and powerful. As global health advocate and program fellow, to watch local providers advance their specialty within their country and provide exceptional care to underserved and marginalized communities is truly fulfilling.
