Shadowing: A Key Step in Your Anesthesiologist Assistant Journey

Shadowing

Shadowing is an essential component of the application process. It offers a unique opportunity to observe the day-to-day responsibilities of an Anesthesiologist Assistant (AA) and helps you determine if this career path is right for you.

Shadowing Requirements:

  • Absolute minimum of 8 hours of shadowing is required.
  • Shadowing can be completed at hospitals across the country. If you are located outside the Denver Meto area, please reach out to local hospitals to inquire about shadowing opportunities in your area.

Interested in Shadowing at UCHealth?

If you would like to schedule a shadowing experience at UCHealth, please complete this survey. We will assist in connecting you with a CAA and provide further guidance. More detailed information about shadowing at UCHealth is also available on the UCHealth Volunteer Services and Shadowing website.

While You Wait for a Shadowing Opportunity:

In the meantime, we recommend interviewing a CAA to learn more about their career path and the experience that led them to their role. This can provide valuable insight as you continue to expand the field.
