The CU Department of Anesthesiology prioritizes the holistic wellbeing of our Faculty, Clinicians, Researchers, Staff and Learners. Our mission is to create a supportive environment with resources dedicated to personal and professional wellness, emphasizing the critical importance of mental, physical, and social health.
Our comprehensive wellbeing initiatives include:
- Wellbeing Committee: Focused on enhancing physical, mental, and social wellbeing through targeted projects that benefit faculty, staff and trainees.
- Intern, Resident and Fellow Wellbeing Retreats: From day-long events to weekend retreats in scenic Colorado, these programs equip learners with resilience strategies, build community support and offer tools to prevent clinician burnout.
- Clinician Mental Health Program: In collaboration with the School of Medicine, this initiative provides mental health coaching, group support, and leadership development to promote long-term career and personal health.
- Community-Building Initiatives: Programs like “Wingmate Wednesday” and the “Community Cookbook” foster a supportive, collaborative culture across the department.
By embedding wellbeing into our culture, we ensure our people thrive both professionally and personally, creating a healthier, more resilient medical community.
