The RCAS team is led by Karen Hampanda, PhD, MPH, Director of Research for the Division of Academic Specialists in OB-GYN, and Assistant Professor, Department of OB-GYN. Dr. Hampanda has expertise in research design, quantitative and qualitative research methods, grant applications, study management and data collection, and manuscript and abstract preparation. She supports research on women's health in Colorado and with global projects in sub-Saharan Africa.
RCAS is supported by PRA, Madeleine Sehrt, MPH. She recently graduated with a Master's from the Colorado School of Public Health where she focused on Maternal and Child Health. Maddie has three years of experience in a variety of health service settings and is passionate about improving the quality and accessibility of women's healthcare. One day, she hopes to pursue a PhD.
Statistical support is overseen by Mary Sammel, ScD, Professor, Department of Biostatistics and Informatics, and Associated Director, Center for Innovative Design & Analysis (CIDA).
Mary is supported by Laurel Beaty, MS, Research Instructor in the Center for Innovative Design & Analysis (CIDA).
Our team members have expertise in research study start up and coordination, quantitative and qualitative design and evaluation, and biostatistical analysis. We work in close collaboration with the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology Administrative Research Core (ARC) to provide support on the regulatory process, including IRB. All research with human subjects requires approval from the Colorado Multiple Institutional Review Board (COMIRB). More information about COMIRB can be found here: https://research.cuanschutz.edu/comirb.
If you need help in editing an existing grant application, manuscript, or other document, the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology now has a Scientific Editor.
