Program Overview

The Maternal-Fetal Medicine Fellowship at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus is designed to prepare fellows for an academic career and to develop the clinical skills required to serve as a perinatal consultant. The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology is well funded and serves as one of the centers for the NIH Women’s Reproductive Health Research grants.

We consider some of our program strengths to include:

Strong Clinical Training

Fellows receive strong clinical training at various outpatient and inpatient sites including UCHealth, Children's Hospital Colorado, CU Maternal-Fetal Medicine clinic sites.

Protected Research Time

Fellows spend a minimum of 1 year in protected research activities.

Collaboration

Our program includes a significant basic science and clinical collaboration with the Department of Pediatrics, as well as other departments in a productive collegial environment.

IUGR Sheep Model

There are large and small animal capabilities, including an internationally renown perinatal research facility using a sheep model of IUGR.

Department Support

Our department provides supportive faculty, section chiefs, and a Department Chair who take an active approach to graduate medical education.

Extensive Didactic Experience

Fellows gain extensive didactic experience including a Maternal-Fetal Physiology course that occurs on a 3-year cycle.

A New State-of-the-Art Medical Campus

The University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus is a world-class medical destination at the forefront of transformative science, medicine, education and healthcare.
