The Intern Experience

The University of Colorado Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency Program strives to provide an outstanding clinical experience in the intern year, laying the ground work to build upon as residency progresses.  We encourage participation in all clinical settings in the intern year, including the operating room.

Intern year begins with Intern Orientation Week.  This is a time to get to know your classmates, and become familiar with your new surroundings.  The week includes a surgical skills curriculum to get you ready for your rotations.  Additionally, there are a variety of social activities to help you get acquainted with the faculty and residents.

All interns are given a week of vacation together at the end of the intern year.  This is a great time to plan a vacation as group.  Historically, intern classes have traveled to Mexico, California, and multiple times to the Telluride Bluegrass Festival.  This is an excellent opportunity to come together as a group after an exciting and tiring year!
