The CU PCOS Multi-Disciplinary Program is a collaboration between the Division of Academic Specialists in OB-GYN and the Women’s Behavioral Health and Wellness Service Line in the Department of Psychiatry. Our team is dedicated to providing comprehensive and collaborative care to individuals with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS). We provide team care to adult patients with PCOS across the life span.

What is PCOS?

Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) is a complex disorder with multi-system effects, including on metabolic health, reproductive health, and psychological health. PCOS affects about 10% of people with ovaries between puberty and menopause. The Rotterdam diagnostic criteria for PCOS require two out of three of:

  • Irregular periods (anovulation)
  • High androgen levels in the blood or symptoms of high androgens (acne, unwanted hair growth, hair loss)
  • “Polycystic” appearing ovaries on pelvic ultrasound
