Cynthia K. Wautlet (she/her/hers), MD, MPH, is a third-year fellow in Maternal Fetal Medicine at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus. Dr. Wautlet completed a BS in Psychology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison before serving in the U.S. Peace Corps-Kenya from 1991-1993. She completed her MD at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in 2002, residency training in Obstetrics & Gynecology in 2007 and MPH in 2012 at UW-Madison. As an academic specialist in general obstetrics and gynecology at UW-Madison from 2007-2021, Dr. Wautlet was an Associate Professor and served as Medical Director of the Arboretum OB-Gyn Resident Clinic, Co-Director of OB-Gyn Global Health Education and Outreach, and held the Jeanne Bissell Endowed Professorship in Reproductive Justice. With the Wisconsin Department of Health Services, Dr. Wautlet served as Co-Chair of the Maternal Mortality Review Team and Medical Director Reproductive Health and Family Planning.
Lamia Alamri, MD, is a second-year fellow in Maternal-Fetal Medicine. She is originally from Pullman, Washington. She received her bachelor's degree in Microbiology from Washington State University. She then spent two years pursuing a graduate degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at Georgetown University and conducting research. She received her medical degree at The George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences and completed an Obstetrics and Gynecology residency at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
Lamia chose Maternal Fetal Medicine as a career choice because she enjoys working with patients with complex obstetric and medical histories to achieve the best possible outcomes. She also enjoys that MFM is at the intersection of many interesting fields including medicine, neonatology, surgery and radiology.
Dr. Natalie Simon is a first-year fellow in Maternal-Fetal Medicine. She is originally from San Diego, California. She received her bachelor's degree in Environmental Science at Northwestern University, where she played volleyball. She went on to receive her medical degree at Temple University in Philadelphia. She first completed an Internal Medicine internship year at University of Colorado, prior to completing an Obstetrics and Gynecology residency at University of Colorado. She is pursuing a career in Maternal-Fetal Medicine as she wants to empower women and their unborn children to be the strongest and healthiest they can be. She is excited to learn about the management of complex maternal medical comorbidities, prenatal diagnosis, and fetal complications that can arise.
Beth Waites, MD, is a first-year fellow in Maternal-Fetal Medicine. She is originally from the Pacific Northwest, and received her bachelor's degree in biology from Whitman college. She then worked as a medical scribe for a few years, during which time she traveled to hospitals all over the country to start scribing programs. She returned to Oregon to complete her medical degree at Oregon Health & Science University, and spent an additional year conducting OB-GYN research and earning her master's in clinical research degree. She then completed residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Kaiser San Francisco. Beth chose to pursue Maternal Fetal Medicine training because she wants to help families navigate medical complexities that can affect pregnancy.

She majored in Applied Biological Sciences and minored in Chemistry at South Dakota School of Mines and Technology, where she also had the chance to compete as an NCAA basketball player. She went on to complete medical school training at University of South Dakota and is finishing her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Marshall University in Huntington, WV.
She has many interests in the field of obstetrics and gynecology and is excited to have another year of exposure in academic medicine. She loves being in the operating room, and the wonderful opportunity to care for an amazing patient population. She has served many roles in graduate medical education during residency including Chair of the House Staff Council where she helped review incident reports regarding residents to help make quality improvement changes, and helped plan the annual PSQI (Patient Safety Quality Improvement) Summit.
Outside of the hospital Dr. Needens enjoys spending time with her miniature goldendoodle Harley, playing basketball, audiobooks, and outdoor activities. Some of her favorites include hiking, skiing, and white-water rafting! She is excited for this new adventure in her career and to be home and close to family.
Dr. Cosette Kathawa is an OB Hospitalist fellow at the University of Colorado. She grew up in Michigan and received her bachelor's degree from the University of Michigan with majors in Neuroscience and Women's Studies and a minor in Spanish. In college, she developed an interest in reproductive healthcare and justice, and spent a year after college working at the University of Michigan as a research assistant and as coordinator for the volunteer doula program. She went on to receive her medical degree from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland. She completed residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Colorado. During residency, she acted as the Chief Resident for Quality Improvement, and led several quality improvement and patient safety projects. Dr. Kathawa's passion is for caring for patients during some of the most challenging and rewarding moments of their lives, and she looks forward to continuing this work as an OB Hospitalist fellow.

She then spent time working as a healthcare consultant and did research at the University of California at San Francisco. She received her medical degree from Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York and graduated with distinction in clinical research. Her Obstetrics and Gynecology residency training was completed at the University of Colorado, where she served as the chief resident for quality improvement. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time in the mountains and reading.
Dr. Simone Elder is a Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility fellow at the University of Colorado. For her undergraduate studies, she went to Rice University where she graduated and completed an Honors Thesis in Biochemistry. She is a Gates Millennium Scholarship recipient and went abroad studying woman's health in India, China, South Africa, and France after college. While at Weill Cornell Medical College, she received multiple awards including, The Gustav Seeligmann Prize for Efficiency in Obstetrics for the highest achievement in Obstetrics and Gynecology, several National Medical Foundation (NMF) Fellowships for her research, and The Franklin C. McLean National Medical Fellowships Scholar which is a national award from the Association of American Medical Colleges to a senior medical student in recognition of outstanding academic achievement, leadership, and community service. She completed her residency training at New York Presbyterian Hospital - Cornell. During residency, she completed research in race and IVF outcomes as well as research focusing on chronic endometritis and Asherman's syndrome. She is excited to call Colorado home and enjoys reading, skiing, exploring museums, and traveling.

She then attended medical school at Wayne State University where she was president of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society and graduated with High Distinction. She was also awarded by her dean the Distinction in Biomedical Research for achieving excellence in research and scholarship. Dr. Siegel completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Colorado where she solidified her desire to pursue a career in Reproductive Endocrinology & Infertility and received The Society for Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility Resident Award for Excellence in REI. Dr. Siegel has published and presented her research at multiple national conferences about disparities in fertility awareness, donor-conceived people, and effects of hormonal contraception on ovarian reserve markers.
In her free-time, Dr. Siegel enjoys playing tennis, spending time in the mountains, traveling, and improving her gluten-free baking skills.

She earned her medical degree from Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine, where she was selected for a longitudinal 4 year International/Inner City/Rural Preceptorship program. She then completed residency at Cooper University Health Care followed by a Medical Genetics and Genomics fellowship at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York. Dr. Zalles has contributed to multiple publications and presentations exploring topics such as Fragile X Syndrome, ART outcomes, preimplantation genetic testing, and racial/ethnic disparities in fertility care. She is passionate about access to care and academic mentorship. A northern Virginia native, Dr. Zalles enjoys spending her free time salsa dancing and encouraging her bulldog to exercise.
