Dr. Jenna Glover was featured on CBS Denver and CPR Newsto discuss strategies on how to talk to young children about mass shootings in schools and advise parents on how to address the topic of gun violence with their children.
Emily Hemendinger, MPH, LCSW, was interviewed for CU Anschutz Today, where she shares her insight on the process of choosing a therapist. She was also featured on CU Anschutz 360 podcast to talk about how social media affects our mental health.
Mandy Doria, MS, LPC, has been featured on 9News in an article titled "CU Anschutz program puts focus on mental health for health care workers" in which she talks about a project she created with the intention of connecting healthcare workers with mental health counselors.
Emmaly Perks and Lily Luo, the directors behind the CU Psychiatry Undergraduate Research Program and Learning Experience or PURPLE program are featured on a recent episode of Mind the Brain. In this episode of the podcast, Perks and Luo talk about the PURPLE program and how it provides resources for students who are interested in pursuing a career in medicine. They were also featured in CU Anschutz Today in an article describing how the PURPLE program serves as a pathway program that connects students to critically needed careers.
Dr Sarah Nagle-Yang was featured in The Denver Post to share her thoughts on the topic of abortion and women's rights.
AWARDS
A team consisting of Dr. Sarah Nagle-Yang, Dr. Allison G Dempsey, Sarah Schwenk, NP, Dr. Edward Macphee, Rachel J Reiser, MSN, RN, Lindsey Guthals, LMSW, Dr. Joel Green and Dr. Dana Steidtmann have been accepted for the Certificate Training Program (CTP) of the Institute for Healthcare Quality, Safety and Efficiency.
SHOUTOUTS
Matthew Nichols completed the Captains of Inclusion Intensive training. The purpose of this training is to build cohorts of committed and passionate team members who will work together to impact the experience of the community.
