Dr. Rachel Davis was interviewed in a CU Anschutz Today story titled "OCD ruled Moksha Patel's life until a rare surgical procedure changed everything."
Dr. Helen L. Coons offered her expertise in a Good Housekeeping article titled "Become a More Joyful Person in 14 Days With Our Happiness Challenge."
Dr. Christian Hopfer was consulted as a substance abuse expert in a Colorado Parent article titled "When You're Worried About Substance Use Where Your Child Plays."
AWARDS
Dr. Allison Dempsey was awarded the Society for Health Psychology's 2022 Excellence in Clinical Health Psychology Award. The award is accompanied by a $500 honorarium. The award will be presented on Saturday, August 6, at the SfHP Awards Ceremony, held in conjunction with the 2022 American Psychological Association convention in Minneapolis, MN.
The Connections Program has been awarded a small grant from the Newborn Hope Foundation. The purpose of this project is to provide resources and actionable recommendations to families and NICU nurses in Colorado NICUs to promote parental coping, infant-parent attachment, family engagement, and trauma-informed care practices, particularly those in NICUs with less developmental and psychosocial support. The team will create coping guides for the NICU, as well as an accompanying NICU nurse resource guides for supporting families during their NICU stay.

Holly Ables, MA, completed the Manager Certification Program. Holly is one of the first few staff members who have completed the manager certification training so far in in the program. We are excited to have her be part of the Women's Behavioral Health and Wellness team as program manager! She will be working as a Health Care Program Manager.
PRESENTATIONS
Dr. Jessica Kenny gave an oral presentation at the 2022 Pediatric Academic Societies conference titled "PCPs on the frontlines: Actions and recommendations to address adolescent depression and suicidality." Dr. Kimberly Kelsay, Dr. Maya Bunik, MPH, Amanda Millar, MSS, Shengh Xiong, BS, and Dr. Ayelet Talmi also contributed.
Drs. Rachel Davis, Ed Macphee, and Joseph Sakai represented the DOPsych at the Colorado Psychiatric Society dinner meeting April 28th. They gave rapid-fire talks about TMS/DBS for addiction, DBS for OCD, and psychedelics. Dr. Moksha Patel also shared his story.
