Dr. Joel Stoddard is featured in a CU Anschutz Medical Campus' Q&A article that discusses where fears come from and how new research insights enhance treatment of fears (such as exposure therapy). In this article, Dr. Stoddard answered questions such as: "As a clinician and researcher, how do you define fear?" and "What is exposure therapy, and historically, has it been the best treatment option for fear?"
Dr. Tyler Coyle, a public health and addiction medicine physician at the University of Colorado, is featured in an article for CPR News titled “What it will be like to buy booze in Colorado in the future.” This article discusses the concerns medical professionals are having regarding the recent debate of reducing alcohol regulation laws in Colorado. Dr. Coyle states “this might lead to increased alcohol use and overuse. Excessive alcohol use can lead to chronic health issues and death.” Dr. Tyler Coyle shares his opinion regarding the propositions that have been made to (1) allow retail liquor stores to apply for and, if approved, increase the number of locations selling alcohol. (2) allow beer-selling grocery and convenience stores to sell wine as well. (3) allow third-party delivery of alcohol from grocery stores, liquor stores, convenience stores, bars, and restaurants in Colorado. In this opinion column for the Colorado Sun, Dr. Coyle reminds readers about the implications these propositions have on public health and how it could impact the health of Colorado’s citizens.
Dr. Bruno Anthony, Chief of Psychology for the Pediatric Mental Health Institute at Children’s Hospital Colorado, talks about the efforts being made to bring needed mental health care to Cherry Creek students. This is possible due to an ongoing partnership between the Cherry Creek School District, the Children’s Hospital Colorado and the CU Department of Psychiatry at the University of Colorado School of Medicine. In this Sentinel Colorado article, Dr. Anthony says, “the hospital believed it would be the best clinical provider for the district because of the strong day treatment model it has been developing on the Anschutz campus as well as its Colorado Springs campus.”

Kyle Baird, DO is featured in this Self article that discusses the effects of time change in circadian rhythms and overall mental health. Dr. Baird explains how our bodies function at its best when we stick to a consistent schedule, therefore, a change in our circadian rhythms can throw things off and cause somewhat of a ripple effect. “Whether you’re springing forward or backward an hour, that change ends up being significant.” Said Dr. Baird.
Dr. Jacob Holzman is featured in a Forbes Health article discussing the appropriate amount of screentime kids should have. Dr. Holzman describes this should not be a ‘one-size-fits-all’ approach. Instead, it’s up to families to determine what’s right for their children once they’re past preschool age regarding their technology use.
