Dr. Joseph Sakai is featured in a 9News article which discusses his new trial study being conducted for methamphetamine use disorder. Dr. Sakai is an addiction psychiatrist who will serve as one of the principal investigators during this trial for a potential treatment for meth addiction. Additionally, Dr. Sakai states in a Fox31News article that methamphetamine is an overlooked epidemic; large numbers of people are using meth in Colorado, getting addicted and dying from an overdose. Since there are no medications approved by the FDA right now to treat methamphetamine use disorder, relapse rates are very high.
"Our youth experience a level of stress today that is unlike anything experienced by any generation before," said Dr. Jessica Hawks in a Denver Post article that discusses the 60% increase in overdose, homicide and suicide rates up in Colorado teens over the past decade.
Dr. Laura Anthony is one of the researchers who developed Unstuck and on Target: The online program helping children overcome the challenges of neurodiversity. The benefits of this program for children with ADHD and/or Autism Spectrum Disorder are discussed in this Rocky Mountain PBS article.
