Learning Objectives

  • Identify patients at risk for ND4 Mitochondrial Genetic Variant in order to provide safer anesthesia for these patients.
  • Anticipate risks and problems unique to oncology patients in order to tailor an anesthetic plan that optimizes their overall treatment.
  • Propose pain management strategies for cardiac surgery patients in order to minimize reliance on opioids and improve outcomes.
  • Explore techniques in Point of Care Ultrasound in order to improve clinical judgement.

ABA MOCA with Patient Safety

The conference plans to offer ABA MOCA® Patient Safety Credit for select sessions. A list of approved sessions and the corresponding MOCA points will be published once finalized. These credits will contribute to the patient safety CME component of the American Board of Anesthesiology’s redesigned Maintenance of Certification in Anesthesiology™ (MOCA®) program, known as MOCA 2.0®. Please consult the ABA website, theABA.org, for a list of all MOCA 2.0 requirements.
