Early Career Review

• Discuss which promotion track is the right fit for your career goals.
• Receive actionable and specific recommendations for documenting career accomplishments in the promotion dossier.
• Ask questions and receive career advancement support from the CU Anschutz Department of Medicine.

• Assistant Professors submit a review packet in Interfolio by May 31.
• A 30-minute virtual meeting is scheduled in June, July, or August with 1-2 members of the Review Committee to discuss the review packet, ask questions, and receive feedback.
• A summary letter with recommendations will be issued to the Assistant Professor and their Division Leadership by the end of September.

The Early Career Review packet includes the following documents that must be uploaded and submitted in Interfolio by May 31.

1. Current CV using the SOM's preferred format.
2. Cover letter (up to 3 pages) which describes the candidate's area of excellence and highlights the impact, importance, and reach of the candidate's accomplishments.
   1. Cover letter for the Tenured & Tenure-Eligible Track
   2. Cover letter for the Clinical Practice Track
   3. Cover letter for the Research Professor Track
3. Personalized Matrix highlighting how the candidate has met the standards for "meritorious" or "excellent" in each of the applicable domains (teaching, clinical activity, research or other scholarly activity, and leadership and service).
4. A list of 3 potential external referees, including their name, rank, and institution. These individuals must not be affiliated with the University of Colorado and should hold the rank of Associate Professor or Professor. Actual letters are not needed and won't be requested.
5. Optional SWOT Analysis

A letter of support from your Division Leadership will also be included in the review packet, and the Department's Faculty Development Office will request this on your behalf.
