Subspecialty Care
Children’s Hospital Colorado and the University of Colorado hospital system are leaders in specialty care and provide excellent mentorship and training for future subspecialists. There are a significant number of categorical residents both in IM and Pediatrics that go on to pursue subspecialty training. In our program, you will have abundant opportunities to work with faculty members in specialties such as adult congenital cardiology (alongside Med-Peds-trained physicians) as well as care of medically-complex children and adults.
Electives in both categorical programs provide exposure to faculty members who can serve as research or career mentors, and we work to pair you with mentors early on in your training to help you accomplish your career goals.
