A Dean's letter (MSPE) from your medical school

3 Letters of Recommendation (LOR): we ask that you include letters from faculty or mentors who you have worked with in a meaningful capacity and can speak to your strengths and attributes, including your clinical skills, work ethic, roles as a leader, and interpersonal skills.

No, applications for PGY-1 positions are only accepted through ERAS.

We expect international medical graduates to have an exceptional academic record and have (at least four months) hands-on clinical experience at an accredited U.S. or Canadian healthcare center. We will not count observerships, research or shadowing as clinical experience.

International Medical Graduates are required to be ECFMG (Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates) certified at the time of your application or far enough along in the application process that you will receive certification no later than February 1st of the year in which you plan to match.

If applying for a visa, USMLE Step 3 is required and your results should be available by February 28 (a few days before the rank list submission deadline.) We strongly suggest you take your Step 3 by December 31 the prior year you plan to match because it is unlikely that you will be able to start your training on time with H1b status. 

While most of our residents do not take time off between medical school and residency, we will evaluate the applications of all individuals holistically, including those who have been out of school for an extended period of time.
