The Sissel Family Endowed Distinguished Clinician Chair at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus honors exceptional clinical contributions, particularly in internal medicine. Established through the generosity of the Sissel family, this prestigious position was first held by Dr. Ronald Colson, recognizing his outstanding work in the field. The chair is part of a broader initiative at CU Anschutz to support and celebrate faculty excellence, with other notable endowed chairs, including the Sissel & Findlow Family Endowed Chair in Stem Cell Research at the Barbara Davis Center for Diabetes.
Chairholder: Ronald S. Colson, MD, FACP

The funds currently support my role in building the Cutaneous Oncology Program through clinical and laboratory research. In our first year, we activated seven clinical trials and have ten more in startup, while pursuing major grants from national cancer research organizations. These efforts are helping us grow the program into a leading center for cutaneous oncology in the Rocky Mountain region.
