The CU Anschutz Department of Medicine investigators conduct collaborative research addressing infectious diseases, health inequities, prevention, and emerging health threats in Colorado and around the world.
Emerging & Neglected Infectious Diseases
DOM investigators study neglected and emerging infections in the United States and globally, with expertise in Chagas disease, tropical and fungal infections, and emerging arboviruses. Recent work includes Oropouche virus disease in the Peruvian Amazon, Chagas disease, and other tropical infections.
Global Prevention & Health Equity
DOM investigators develop and evaluate interventions addressing preventable health risks and health inequities locally and globally. This includes Dr. Gina Kruse's tobacco and nicotine cessation research through the CoNECTR program, including clinical trials, implementation research, and population-based work in U.S. and international settings.
Global Cardiovascular Health
Through the longstanding CU–University of Zimbabwe partnership, DOM faculty use telehealth and remote cardiovascular diagnostics to support clinical care, education, and collaborative research in Zimbabwe.
