Ben Sheneman is a Research Services Professional with the Primary Care Diabetes Lab, having joined in 2025. Having previously worked in Internal Medicine before returning to school, Ben is passionate about primary care and its unique role in improving patients' lives and long-term wellbeing. 

Sarah is the Program Coordinator for Sports Medicine Fellowship and started December of 2025.

Sarah Smith began working in the Department of Family Medicine as a Research Services Professional (RSP) in December of 2024 focusing on the CONQUEST program. Sarah has an MS in Nursing and previously worked in research at Northwestern University and as a global director for in-home research services at Syneos Health.

Janet Spradley is a Colorado native. She received her Master of Social Work degree from Colorado State University. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Metropolitan State University of Denver. Prior to her current role, she worked as a clinical social worker at the Colorado Blood Cancer Institute where she supported patients and their care partners during treatment for blood cancer, including stem cell transplant and CAR T-cell therapy.

Amanda Vogel is Research Professional and has her Bachelors in Nutrition Science.

Meredith Warman joined the DFM in 2014 for two years as a PRA before working at a local public health agency. She returned to the DFM in 2020 as a PRA/RSP and has been working primarily as a project manager on SNOCAP and community-based projects. Meredith has a BA in Psychology from CU Boulder and an MPH in Community and Behavioral Health from Colorado School of Public Health. She works part-time from her home in Westminster and have two children. Meredith has lived in Colorado since 2003 ("I moved to Colorado for college and never left!").

Laura Washington, BSHS (she/her/hers) is the program coordinator for the Behavioral Health and Integrated program. She has worked in the department for six years. A large portion of her work within the BH program is the managing of the educational program that includes ten psychology interns, three psychology fellows, and three psychology externs. She also supports Dr. Shandra Brown Levey, Director of Behavioral Health and Integrated Programs along with ten psychologists at seven family medicine clinics. She has three children and a partner of 24 years. Outside of work, Laura enjoys traveling with her family, reading, cooking, and being outdoors.

Kristen M Waters is a Faculty Affairs Specialist (all things Faculty and more…) within DFM’s HR Team and have worked for DFM for 9 years (Oct. 2015). She has her BS as well as her SHRM-CP. "I am blessed to be doing what I love, and I am here to serve!".

Kristin Watkins is a Pre/Post Award Grants and Contracts Specialist for the research function of Family Medicine. Kristin lives in Colorado Springs and is a Nebraska transplant. She has spent over 25 years working in grants, 12 of them in academic medicine and public health. She has been with the department since February of 2024 and is excited to be part of the University of Colorado.

Elizabeth Westfeldt has been the clinical research nurse with the Primary Care Diabetes Lab (PCDL) since August 2022. She performs clinical care, patient education, and coordination on all PCDL studies. Elizabeth completed her BSN at CU Anschutz and BA at CU Boulder. Prior to joining the PCDL, she was a nurse at UCHealth caring for surgical and trauma patients.
