Clinical research
Diabetes distress (DD) has been associated with less engagement in self-management behaviors, medication adherence, and self-care activities. This study will determine the acceptability and feasibility of using an interactive health information technology system and tech-assisted clinical intervention workflows to screen and treat DD in primary care patients with type 1 and type 2 diabetes.
The development of workflows for assessing and treating DD in primary care is a necessary component for providing whole-person diabetes care.
Delivering whole-person diabetes care is recommended and includes the emotional and psychological aspects of living with diabetes.
