Summary

This project will assess the efficacy of training healthcare professionals in primary care to assess and intervene with diabetes distress utilizing evidence-based interventions systematically as part of routine care. 

Significance

This contribution is expected to be significant because it will expand access to evidence-based whole-person care for people with diabetes.

Impact

The results of this study will demonstrate the effectiveness of assessing and offering intervention for diabetes distress in interdisciplinary primary care clinics, improve access to whole-person care for people with diabetes, and offer greater direction for how primary care clinics can move closer to consistently offering the recommended standard of diabetes care surrounding assessment and comprehensive diabetes care.
