Key areas of focus: cerebral aneurysms, ischemic stroke
Dr. Roark has extensive training in all modalities of treatment for cerebral aneurysms. His research focus is on critical analysis of commonly used methods to estimate the size of arteriovenous malformations; treatment of acute ischemic stroke in the youngest reported case of mechanical thrombectomy for an acute ischemic stroke with a stent retriever; and contributing to neurosurgical knowledge of issues surrounding perioperative anticoagulation use. In addition, Dr. Roark is very involved in building a research support structure at our institution to form the foundation for future research.
