The Department of Neurological Surgery offers two appointments each year in a 7-year program. The program is designed to provide residents with increasing clinical and surgical responsibility over the course of their training, and to prepare graduates for an academic neurosurgical career, a practice in the private sector, or further training in a subspecialty fellowship.
Residents in the Department of Neurological Surgery fall under the supervision of the Graduate Medical Education division.

A passing score on USMLE Step II (CS and CK) is required for all trainees beginning a University of Colorado Denver, School of Medicine GME program.
