T32 Mentors
We have an extensive and varied team of mentors from units across the institution. Mentors prepare our trainees to transition to a multidisciplinary, research oriented team science faculty position. We have an extensive and varied team of mentors from units across the institution. Each mentor's research falls into at least one of the 5 focus areas of our T32:
- Acute Respiratory Failure and Recovery
- Airway Disorders
- Fibrotic, Interstitial, and Occupational Lung Disease
- Lung Cancer
- Pulmonary Vascular Disorders
Primary Mentors
Primary mentors are actively serving as PI or multi-PI on an R01 or equivalent during their time mentoring the respective CTP Trainee. R01 equivalent awards can include PI status for a VA Merit Award, U01 award, PPG Project/Core award, or any other federal/foundation-funded grant with direct costs of >$250K/year.

Co-Mentors
Co-mentors have a robust investigative career and have expressed a sincere interest in mentoring, but have not yet achieved the criteria to serve as a Primary mentor. Co-mentors can serve in a mentoring role with the guidance of a Primary mentor, and thereby provide additional hands-on trainee support.
