Former Denver Public Schools superintendent Jerry Wartgow was named interim chancellor of the University of Colorado Denver, and Lilly Marks was chosen as CU vice president for health affairs and as executive vice chancellor for the Anschutz Medical Campus, where the medical school is located.
Marks will oversee academic, clinical and research operations as well as issues such as transportation and development.
Marks previously headed finance and administration for the medical school and will soon step down as executive director of University Physicians, Inc.
Dean Richard Krugman says of Marks, "I would never have lasted 20 years in this job without her support." She and Wartgow succeed M. Roy Wilson, MD, who resigned as chancellor.
