What are your favorite things to do in the Denver Area?
I was drawn to Denver because it has all the amenities of a large city but also offers access to the mountains and nature. There are endless opportunities to explore new restaurants, parks, movie theaters, and museums in the city and
the proximity to the mountains makes it just as easy to go hiking, snowboarding, or fishing on a whim. There is also the famous Red Rocks Amphitheater which brings in many popular artists each Summer and I love that Denver has several professional
sports teams so I can still support my hometown teams when they come to town.
What is the most rewarding thing about Radiology residency?
I ranked this program highly after spending time here as a visiting medical student and interacting with the residents and faculty from several divisions. The department as a whole made me feel very welcomed and I observed how patient and understanding
the attendings were with the lower level residents as they fumbled through cases for the first time. I knew this was a program that has created an ideal learning environment where residents are not paralyzed by fear of making mistakes but rather
able to take steps out of their comfort zones and be met with support from the faculty.
