Cardiothoracic Imaging Fellowship

The Cardiothoracic Imaging Fellowship program at National Jewish Health and the University of Colorado offers broad range of advanced training to help develop a high level of expertise in cardiothoracic imaging. The cardiothoracic radiology fellowship program is a 1 year training program. We offer a joint fellowship with National Jewish Health. The joint program at National Jewish Health and the University of Colorado (CU) consistently ranks among the top hospitals in the country for adult pulmonology and lung surgery. CU is the main academic and teaching institution for the Rocky Mountain Region. This fellowship offers extraordinary opportunities for continued learning, research and clinical interactions, designed to develop broad-based expertise in all forms of non-invasive cardiothoracic imaging and image processing. The program is non-ACGME and does not participate in the National Resident Matching Program.

National Jewish Health is an international referral center for clinical care of pulmonary diseases, and includes a diverse population of outpatients with respiratory and cardiac disease. The practice is enriched by a large population of patients with interstitial lung disease, asthma, COPD, and occupational lung disease. At CU there is a more general population of patients requiring chest imaging studies, with particular emphasis on thoracic oncology, pulmonary hypertension, and cardiothoracic surgery, including a large lung transplantation program. Upon completion of the program, fellows will be able to image all forms of chest and cardiovascular disease with appropriate tools and to answer clinical questions with confidence and a great degree of expertise.
