How to Apply

Application Process

The Department of Radiology offers first-year integrated interventional radiology positions (PGY-II) beginning July 1. A one-year clinical internship in an ACGME accredited United States program at this or another institution is required prior to that time. All positions are filled through the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP). Trainees are chosen on the basis of their academic record, achievements, and a personal interview.

All applications will be accepted through Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS) of the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC). This electronic application is submitted through the Dean’s office of your medical school. If you have any questions about the ERAS system or are applying from outside the U.S., please contact the ERAS office for information.

Through the ERAS system, we require the following information from each applicant:

  • General application form (includes CV)
  • Personal statement
  • Medical Student Performance Evaluation Letter (Dean's Letter)
  • Three (3) letters of recommendation
  • USMLE and other Board examination results (COMLEX, NBME, FLEX, ECFMG), if applicable
  • Medical school transcript
  • Photograph (optional)
We prefer that all applicants have graduated from medical school within the past 5 years. All applicants must have USMLE examination results.  International medical graduates must be ECFMG certified before an application can be considered. Residents in our program must be a U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, asylee, or possess the appropriate documentation to allow residents to legally train at the University of Colorado Denver School of Medicine.
Although applications can be accepted only through the ERAS, we can be contacted directly to answer any specific questions that you have regarding our program or the application process.
