About the Integrated IR Residency Program

The Interventional Radiology Division at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus is dedicated to delivering exceptional patient care by employing cutting-edge techniques across a diverse range of medical and surgical specialties. Our primary focus is to ensure the highest quality education for trainees at all levels, with a particular emphasis on nurturing future leaders in the field of Interventional Radiology (IR). Our research interests span clinical, translational, and basic sciences, providing a robust foundation for scientific exploration and discovery.

Our residents gain invaluable experience across a wide spectrum of cases, including vascular, oncologic, hepatobiliary, dialysis, pain/palliative, genitourinary, and gastrointestinal conditions. Additionally, they have the unique opportunity to develop skills in pediatric and neurointerventional procedures. Multidisciplinary conferences, outpatient clinics, and noninvasive vascular imaging are integral components of their training.

The University of Colorado IR Residency program offers comprehensive training for board certification in both Interventional and Diagnostic Radiology. We welcome applications through ERAS (ACGME ID 4160700001). To streamline the process, interview days align with those of the University of Colorado Diagnostic Radiology Residency program. Please note that all interviews are currently conducted virtually, following AAMC recommendations.

This is an exciting era for Interventional Radiology, and we encourage all interested applicants to reach out to our office for further details. For additional information, the Society of Interventional Radiology (SIR) website (https://www.sirweb.org) offers key insights into the new IR residency and related topics.

We look forward to welcoming prospective candidates and sharing more about the exceptional opportunities within the University of Colorado IR Residency.
