OPEN COVERAGE DATES: November 2022 and onward (we have this contract for the next 3+ years).

SITE DETAILS: Lower encounters, no procedures, day shifts and pager call. 8a-8p on-site. 1-2 admits/discharges per day avg.

  • Nurse shift change is at 7 a & 7p so they can be flexible as to when morning rounds start but ideally 7 or 8am.
  • Round, admit, discharge to begin your shift and then you are free to leave but will be on pager call. Usually on-site for just 4-6 hours.
  • Provider will be expected to return to facility for deteriorating patient or new admissions.
  • If a new admission arises overnight you will take a call from the ED, accept the patient & can request tuck in orders. Allowing you to get hands on the patient at the next morning rounds.
  • General surgeons take call and round on their own patients.
  • Hospital ideally would like their Hospitalist Providers to get an NRP certification and be willing to do a health assessment on a newborn.
  • Site averages 8-9 deliveries a month.
  • Half of patients are in swing beds.
  • Critical Access Hospital.

Join a diverse, patient-centered hospitalist group in a large community hospital setting with access to all medical specialties for consult and strong administrative support.

North central WV, Just 40 minutes from WVU in Morgantown and less than 2 hours from Pittsburgh.

Opportunity Highlights:

  • Non-profit, 300 bed new hospital facility
  • Collegial work environment with full spectrum of specialists on consult
  • Expanding to 3 night services
  • Hospital works with physicians to arrange a schedule that works best for them. Minimum of 13 shifts/month required
  • 7p-7a or 6p-6a
  • 10-20 admissions per night. 3 Nocturnist, so 2 will share admissions and 3rd will cross cover
  • Sign-on bonus and relocation assistance
  • Responsibilities include coverage of an open, 20-bed ICU. 
  • Proficiency in placement of central lines required.  Other procedural skills are welcome, but not required.

  • Recruitment incentives available for multi-year commitment
  • Competitive compensation plan and paid time off. Current night rate is $160/hr.  This equates to $299,520 for min 13 shifts per month, up to $345,600 for 15 shifts a month.  Hospital pays a premium for over 15 shifts a month as well.
