The Center for COMBAT Research Fellow Program is designed to advance the professional development of young investigators with an interest in U.S. military-relevant research through mentorship and guidance in a collegial, collaborative environment. The COMBAT Fellow Program includes trainees in Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME)-accredited residency or fellowship programs.
The COMBAT Fellow Program seeks highly motivated, productive, and focused innovators aiming to change medical practice through scholarship and research to improve the lives of our nation’s warriors and to inform civilian practice.

Captain (Capt.) Caleb Knight is a PGY-4 at the Denver Health Residency in Emergency Medicine, a U.S. Air Force Health Professions Scholarship Program Recipient, and a COMBAT Scholar at the CU Anschutz Center for COmbat Medicine and BATtlefield (COMBAT) Research.
Capt. Knight achieved a B.S. in Kinesiology with an Exercise Science concentration from California Polytechnic State University with honors (2015) prior to attending the Robert Larner M.D. College of Medicine at the University of Vermont. During his residency and time with the COMBAT Research center he has published on non-blood product experimental treatments for hemorrhagic shock along with experts affiliated with the center, and presented posters at the Special Operations Medical Association and at the Governmental Services Chapter American College of Emergency Physicians in 2023.
Capt. Knight is assigned to Scott Air Force Base following graduation and will work at the Barnes Jewish Hospital Emergency Department with Washington University in St. Louis, MO.
