Founded in 2004, the Emergency Medicine Interest Group (EMIG) is a student-led organization for any students of the allied health professions interested in learning more about the impactful and rewarding field of emergency medicine. Our members include students from the University of Colorado School of Medicine (PA program and MD program), the CU College of Nursing, the Skaggs School of Pharmacy, Red Rocks Community College PA Program, and Rocky Vista University School of Medicine DO program.
EMIG is led by an annually elected steering committee that organizes a variety of educational and hands-on events throughout the year, including monthly lunch lectures by emergency medicine specialists, skills night labs, and leadership opportunities for students who want to get more involved. Lunch lectures are open to all students regardless of membership, though EMIG members receive priority registration.
Students can register for an EMIG membership at any EMIG-sponsored event. If you’d like to register at another time, be added to our listserv, or learn more, please email us at [email protected].
