Our Story

The University of Colorado School of Medicine is located at the Anschutz Medical Campus in Aurora Colorado, just east of downtown Denver.  CU Anschutz is the largest academic health center in the Rocky Mountain Region, including a major medical hub for the University of Colorado Hospital and UCHealth system; Colorado Children’s Hospital; and the Veteran Affairs Hospital. CU Anschutz campus was developed on the former Fitzsimons Medical Army Base.

Our academic health center includes six schools and colleges—Medicine, Public Health, Nursing, Pharmacy, Dental Medicine, and Graduate Education—that rank among the Best Rated in the U.S. News and World Report. We are committed to transforming structures in education, science, and medicine in such that we expand opportunity, foster excellence, and shape the future of emergency medicine.

Together, the University of Colorado Denver and the CU Anschutz Medical Campus are designated as a Hispanic Serving Institution (HSI), Minority Serving Institution (MSI), and Asian American and Native American Pacific Islander-Serving Institution (AANAPISI).
