Professional interests: As it is still very early in my exposure to otolaryngology, I haven't yet figured out which subspecialty speaks most loudly to me.
Hobbies: I enjoy hot yoga, running, reading, and hiking.
What did you do before otolaryngology? While I had known for a long time that I was interested in medicine, in undergrad I developed an interest in international development and nutrition. I pursued these as my initial fields of study. In medical school, I became more aware and invested in learning about the challenges facing local communities in the USA and Canada, especially those affecting African-Americans. As a Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Scholar, I was able to spend some of my time focused on health policy. I continue to be interested in this.
What is the biggest strength of our program? The faculty are truly invested in our learning, we have a well-rounded exposure to subspecialties, and, as co-residents, we take pride in looking out for one another.
