Our support group for parents of children that have survived a stroke is designed to meet regularly to address ongoing issues of patients and families facing this unique situation. The group also meets for other family activities to build relationships with others in this community. With changes due to COVID and other practicalities, this program is starting to add dates to meet both in person and virtually.
These meetings are open to families of children of all ages and all types of stroke. Your child does not need to be seen at our stroke clinic to join the meetings.
Our social workers and pediatric stroke staff are on hand to provide support. Typically, we hold an informal presentation and allow the parents to socialize.
Our next meeting will be focusing on self-esteem and self-advocacy. This will be a virtual meeting and all are welcome to join for learning and discussion. To join this meeting, please RSVP to our stroke team at strokesupport@ucdenver.edu.
Dec 6, 2023 - 6 pm-7:30 pm: In-Person Holiday Party to celebrate and connect with other families, including a discussion with Dr. Tim Bernard about stroke research and news.
