Ultrasound Fellowship


This one-year EUFAC accredited fellowship, affiliated with Denver Health Medical Center (DHMC), prepares emergency physicians to become leaders and subject matter experts in emergency ultrasound. The program is grounded in a longstanding tradition of clinical excellence in point-of-care ultrasound, supported by research and educational publications related to emergency ultrasound. Our faculty are committed to integrating ultrasound into every emergency physician’s clinical practice while mentoring fellows to become leaders in the field. Fellows will be prepared as excellent sonologists and provided with access to a rich clinical environment, a research associate program, statistical support, and attending staff with strong academic backgrounds.  

  • Clinical and scanning shifts at Denver Health Medical Center (DHMC), a high-acuity Level I trauma center and Level II pediatric trauma center, equipped with state-of-the-art ultrasound technology
  • Development of skilled educators through diverse experiences in curriculum development, presentation design, lecture delivery, and content creation
  • Administrative training using a cloud-based system that integrates multiple ultrasound systems, PACS, and the EMR
  • Completion of a research project supported by a robust clinical environment, a dedicated research associate program, statistical resources, and academically accomplished faculty
