The McMillan Lecture is the most distinguished honor an active American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) member can receive; it recognizes those who have demonstrated exemplary skills in the areas of administration, education, patient care, management, and research. Lauren Hinrichs, PT, DPT, OCS and Michelle Rauzi, PT, DPT, ATC were awarded Promotion of Doctoral Studies (PODS) I Scholarships of $7,500. The Foundation for Physical Therapy Research provides yearly scholarships to physical therapists or physical therapist assistants who have completed at least two full semesters or three full quarters of their coursework toward a postprofessional doctoral degree. This cycle, a total of $82,500 was awarded in PODS I Scholarship funding to 11 researchers.

Get to know more about Scott Burns, DPT the 2020 Rising Star Alumni Award. Dr. Scott Burns graduated with his Masters from University of Colorado in 2005 and then complete the transitional DPT. Since that time he has wholeheartedly embodied the mission of the CU PT Program by demonstrating excellence in education, research and clinical practice. Nominated by Professor Paul Mintken, Scott previously served as the CU Physical Therapy Alumni Association President, pursued an accomplished career in academia and is in pursuit of his PhD.
